What you think isn’t necessarily true … and often feels bad … even if it is true!

‘Bad’ goes by all kinds of words and labels like: stressful, scary, depressing, traumatic, sadness, anger, guilt, worry, dread, rejection, betrayal, painful and so on. Here is a truth … You successfully produce your own feelings and you have control to feel the way you want. The key is to create the feelings you want CONSCIOUSLY.

Emotions don’t really have words or labels but we apply lots of them to describe how we feel.

It is impossible to feel good and bad at the same time just as you cannot put your arm up and down at the same time. YOU ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE. So what do you prefer? I often joke that if someone prefers to feel bad, I can teach them how to make it worse!

Assuming you want to create good or at least neutral feelings, the key is to make it a conscious choice and produce them with awareness. Regularly check in with yourself and just notice how you feel. Develop the habit to be aware of your feelings like an observer or witness. Check in with yourself right now. Which of the three feelings are you creating and what do you want to create? You can go anywhere in your mind and create the feelings you want.

‘Good’ feelings have their labels too: relaxed, safe, joy, peace, ease, happiness, acceptance, excitement, contentment, optimism, love, appreciation, awe, freedom, bliss and so on.

In my work with individuals and groups I talk a lot about being the creator of your own experience and   teach skills and techniques to create and maintain the desired life experience. This is EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE and can transform your life without changing your partner, boss, body weight, increasing your bank balance or any other external circumstances.

Thoughts carry an energy. They have an effect on your health and well-being and your ability to achieve and experience what you want and don’t want in life. You can change your thoughts and are not at their mercy. Yes, you will have involuntary unpleasant ones. In fact it is estimated we have about 60,000 thoughts every day, 90% are the same ones and 70% are negative or redundant. But, you have the power to reach for good feeling thoughts and experience the associated good feeling emotions … whatever you choose to call them.

I regularly demonstrate the effect of thoughts on the body with muscle testing. I usually ask the person to extend an arm and I apply a light two finger pressure on the arm while I have them think or say something. If it feels good/true/resourceful the muscle indicates with a strong response. If the thought or words feel bad/false/not resourceful then the muscle tests weak. This is a powerful experiential demonstration and I have used it with Scottish weight lifting champions to show it has nothing to do with muscle strength.

Your body and mind are one. Everything in you is connected and inter-connected. When you feel good your body and mind thrives. Your health and well-being is enhanced. Your immune system is stronger and the functionality of your body is optimized.

There are two feelings that will raise your vibration to the highest level and they are available in your ‘back pocket’ anytime you choose to focus on and produce the feelings of …

Focus on who you love, who loves you, what and where you love and anything you are grateful for. This focus and choice guarantees good feelings every time.
