“Every day in every way, I’m getting better and better”
Can the use of simple words like these cure illness? What you just read is in my view so important, easy, and powerful with all the credibility you could ask for, that I share it with as many people as possible including with you now in this blogpost. I really do mean everyone I meet whether in a personal appointment, my courses and seminars and even in everyday conversation at the gym or wherever.
This short affirmation made such an impact on me when I learned about it, that I memorized it and started using it right away on a daily basis. I’ve developed the habit of replying with it when anyone asks how I am. I hope this short post inspires you to use it too and share it, especially with all near and dear in your life particularly those with any physical and mental health challenges.
A brief history: The name Émile Coué is not a name that is commonly known today. He was a French psychologist and pharmacist who introduced a popular method of psychotherapy and self-improvement based on what he termed ‘optimistic autosuggestion’. At the turn of the century, this pioneer in affirmation techniques was curing illnesses and teaching his discoveries in clinics all over Europe and North America.
Émile Coué (1857-1926)
He caused quite a sensation in his day and his work is still talked about decades after his death. Coué found that his patients recovered much better, and more quickly if they repeated this simple affirmation every morning upon rising, and every evening before going to sleep. If you are not familiar with affirmations, they are simply anything you think or say … This one is well worth repeating:
“Every day in every way, I’m getting better and better.”
Just verbalise or think it for two minutes in the morning and two minutes in the evening before bed. That was all he asked his patients to do. The positive effect was so dramatic that he wrote several books on the subject of self-suggestion and taught people around the world the curative properties of the mind when directed towards recovery.
Coué’s affirmation focused the patient’s mind on
every day, in every way, getting better and better.
Émile Coué is credited with the documented cures for thousands of people.
