(W)Holistic health takes account of the whole you – Physical and non-physical.
As a holistic health and life enhancement coach, I refer to the physical aspect as ‘health and wellness‘ and the non-physical as ‘well-being‘. My objective is to provide education, resources and support from a holistic approach to assist you achieve and maintain your desired results. This takes account of your body and mind and how your ‘environment’ affects both. Holistic health includes everything we put in our body, and neglect to put in. It factors in our activity levels, and lack of activity. It includes how you think and everything you believe and perceive as well as the ‘programs’ that run in your conscious and unconscious mind. Everything in a human being is connected and inter-connected. Physical and non-physical (meta-physical). The great news is that your intelligent body and mind will respond to the positive changes you make. You are dynamic human being who can adapt and change to optimize your health and life situation.
The mind is the body and the body is the mind.
Ideally, your body should be in balance and is constantly working on your behalf to achieve this. Using the triangle above to depict this, the ideal is equilateral, i.e. three equal sides and three equal angles. If any aspect is out of balance it can affect the others. For example, if a person suffers chronic pain or fatigue (physiological) this can manifest as depression, anger, and resentment (emotional/psychological), or affect digestion, hormone levels and the immune system (biochemical). Conversely, if a person is stressed (emotional/psychological) this can result in high blood pressure, headaches, heartburn, ulcers, weight related problems (biochemical and physiological).
Everything in you is connected and inter-connected.
